9am - 1pm - it was a typical urban rangers day with stormy weather for nearly all the session! From 09:00am to 09:30am the 4 of us present were in the woodland, preparing for the new project this winter - clearing scrub and trees in the woodland to improve the habitat for new species of wildlife, particularly insects, as well as birds. From 09:30am to 12:15pm we planned how it was going to be done, discussing and writing down ideas. For the final 45 minutes of the session, after the rain had stopped, we went back to the woodland to spray-paint selected trees so they could be cut down later in the winter.
